2011 Subaru Forester

Ticket into the Family – the 2011 Subaru Forester

Are you part of the Subaru family?
If your face now gleams with a gleeful smile, then stop reading and go buy the 2011 Forester. If your countenance now twists in confusion, then stop reading and go buy the 2011 Forester, because you need to understand what Subaru is all about.
All Foresters use a horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine, with the two upscale XT trims utilizing a turbocharged variant. Now, at the mention of a “boxer-four” in a 3,250-lb vehicle, outsiders may groan, but family members only grin knowingly. And well they should; the base mill has plenty of power for daily driving and light off-roading, while the turbocharged variant sends the Forester speeding to 60 mph in an impressive 6.8 seconds. Both engines are rated to tow 2,400 pounds, enough to haul a pop-up camper or small boat. And if you are a member of the Subaru clan, chances are that is precisely what you will be doing. When the Forester is not foraging through trails, it handles admirably on the urban pavement.
The Forester is engineered, not designed. It has excellent cargo area, cavernous passenger space, an ergonomic interior, and some of the best safety ratings in the class – but it’s rather boring to look at. The Forester could replace Ambien as a means to get people to sleep. But that is Subaru. Its vehicles have no ego, so if you do, please shop elsewhere.
The 2011 Subaru Forester is available in six trims: 2.5x, 2.5x Premium, 2.5x Limited, 2.5x Touring, 2.5xt Premium, and 2.5xt Touring. The base 2.5x trim has everything you need and little you don’t, while upscale trims pile on the high-tech features. There is a bewildering amount of optional features and cosmetic alterations for all trims.
There is always room in the Subaru family, and the 2011 Forester could be your ticket in.
